The University of Zurich holds an entrance examination for students educated in Switzerland or abroad who do not have recognized qualifications for admission.

Registering for Examination

The registration form must be submitted together with the lists of works, list of subjects relating to the major subject, and confirmation that you paid the examination fees (receipt).
Examination Dates 2016
Examinations are held each year in summer.

Registrations may be canceled with no explanation up to ten working days before the start of the examination period; afterwards, registrations may only be canceled for important reasons.
If a registration is canceled, the Student Administration Office must be notified immediately.
Registrations that are canceled late, and where applicants have no good reason for canceling, will result in the student failing the examination.
Passing the Examination
The entrance examination is deemed to have been passed if the average mark over the nine subjects examined is at least 4 and if: No mark is below 2, no more than one mark is below 3, and no more than three marks are below 4.
If unauthorized aids are used, a failing grade will be given for all parts of the examination.
The fees for the full entrance examination are CHF 500.
It is possible to re-take the entrance examination once; in this case the fee must be paid again.
Candidates who withdraw their registration at least 10 working days before the start of the examination period are entitled to reimbursement of the examination fees paid, minus a service charge of CHF 50.
