Pre-registration with CRUS
An aptitude test determines who will receive a place to study medicine. Prospective students must pre-register with the Rectors' Conference of the Swiss Universities (CRUS) med.crus.ch in order to take the aptitude test. (The website and the form are in German and French.) Pre-registration with CRUS is mandatory for participating in the aptitude test.
- Deadline for online pre-registration with CRUS: 15 February
- Studies commence in fall semester only.
- Late pre-registration will not be accepted.
- Aptitude test 2012: Friday, 6 July
Prospective students can pre-register online with CRUS from November until 15 February for the next academic year. Important: The form students receive by email after pre-registering must be sent to CRUS by regular mail within the named registration period.
The results of the aptitude test determine whether a student will be accepted to the program in Zurich. Students may, however, be placed in an other Swiss university. Acceptance to the UZH will be granted once a student has received a place to study and the conditions for admission at the University of Zurich have been fulfilled. The Admissions Office at the University of Zurich will contact first-year students with foreign qualifications and inform them about the next steps.
Applying at the UZH
If you would like to have the option to study an alternative subject after the results of the aptitude test are announced (regardless of whether or not you pass the aptitude test), you must also apply for the other UZH degree program of interest within the standard application period or you must already be registered in an alternative degree program.
