The Open Researcher and Contributor iD (ORCID) is a standardized, internationally recognized, and persistent identifier that distinguishes you from other researchers and provides a mechanism for linking your research results and activities to your iD. Your publications can always be found unambiguously through any name variants, name changes or different spellings as well as institute changes. ORCID iD also improves the visibility of research for institutions. Registration with ORCID is voluntary, free of charge and open to everyone.
The advantages of ORCID iD are now also integrated into ZORA.
You can
- Store your ORCID iD if you already have an iD
- Register an ORCID iD via ZORA
- Tag your publications with your ORCID iD (FAQ No. 14)
- Export publications in ZORA to your ORCID record (FAQ No. 13)
- Import publications from your ORCID record into ZORA (FAQ No. 15)
- with the ORCID iD you can easily create publication lists for integration into UZH-websites
Detailed information and step-by-step instructions can be found here: https://www.hbz.uzh.ch/en/open-access-und-open-science/grundlagen-hintergruende/ORCID/orcid-checkliste.html

Data protection
Please note that you must create an ORCID account in order to obtain an ORCID iD. With the registration you have to comply with the data protection regulations and the terms of use of ORCID. The UZH is not responsible for the use of the data stored in the ORCID record. Data processing and storage is carried out in the USA, among other countries.
