ZORA entries with a full text document are now marked with a lock. The colour of the lock indicates the Open Access type at a glance.

Green – refers to the self-archiving of submitted or accepted manuscripts in repositories.

Gold – refers to publications in freely accessible Open Access journals or books.

Orange – Hybrid, also known as paid open access, refers to subscription journals with open access for individual articles, which are usually released when a fee is paid by the author, institution or research fund to the publisher or journal.

Blue – No Open Access: Due to embargo periods, the download is only possible for members of the UZH after login.

The Open Access type of ZORA items is determined either automatically, using various information sources such as the JDB, Directory of Open Access Journals, Unpaywall, and ZORA item information itself, or manually by the Open Access team of the Main Library of UZH. Note that the Open Access type is not a static quantity, but may change with time, e.g. if a publication flips from embargoed to Open Access.
