We would like to present for UZH/USZ members some useful services and tools for your home office.

  1. Journals in your pocket
With the tool BrowZine you can manage your favorite journals in one place. You can read articles online but also offline, and you don’t need to be in the IP range of the UZH.
    How can you get it?
Download the tool for Apple / Android & choose the library “University of Zurich”.
  2. Reference management system: from the entry to the article
Insert this OpenURL-Resolver in the settings of your program: https://sfx.metabib.ch/sfx_uzh
For example in the program EndNote under Edit -> Preferences -> Find Full Text the program will search for articles, which are not findable with the Find Full Text option. If no fulltext is available, the resolver provides a link to the document delivery form.
  3. Document delivery
The UZH provides no access to a journal or you need a book? Use our document delivery service (chargeable). For UZH/USZ members this service is free of charge until July 31th.
  4. Acquisition request
You need a book for your lecture or research that we do not have in our bookshelf? Or you need access to an ebook?
    Make a request to us.
  5. Need a consultation?
You have questions about literature research, reference management or publishing?
With our service Rent a Librarian we give you personal consulting.
  6. E-Library access at home
There are 3 possiblities to gain access to emedia.
    – VPN (installation needed)
    – EZproxy (in browser: https://ezproxy.uzh.ch/login?url=)
    – New: Lean Library -> more information in the Coffee Lecture from 24. July 2020

Our webpage hbz.uzh.ch provides many information about our services. Stay tuned with our blog uzh.ch/blog/hbz.
