The Journal für Psychoanalyse was established in 2003 and was only available in printed form until 2015. In 2016, the journal went Open Access in the framework of HOPE (see below). Since then, the journal has not only been available as an online version, but also as a print version. The decision to go online has not harmed the journal. On the contrary:

In August 2020, the editors even went one step further and retrospectively made all previous articles available with Open Access until 2007. In advance, all authors were contacted in regard of their consent to an online publication of their article. This example shows that the path to the online world can be worthwhile for a printed journal.

HOPE (Main Library Open Publishing Environment): Since 2016, HOPE provides a platform to researchers of the University of Zurich for publishing in Open Access journals. This service is offered by the Main Library of the University of Zurich based on the infrastructure of the Zentrale Informatik. For management and publication of scientific journals, the open-source software Open Journal Systems (OJS) is used.
