Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development – SLLS

Summer School 2017

Thank you, Instructors, Staff, Students

28. August 2017 | Michael J. Shanahan | 2 Kommentare

We ended the SLLS 2017 Summer School on a great note with our event-history instructors, Hill Kulu and Karel Neels. They are superb teachers with great expertise. Thank you, Hill and Karel.

A big “thank you” to the staff. Many people remarked that the summer school was very well organized.  Maria J. Schoenholzer Montero and Marta Dobrijevic have been working on this project for months. And our tech folks — Sandra Kocher and Stefan Kappeler — made this blog possible and also made sure that we had no problems with computers and software. Thank you to all of you.

The people at the Jacobs Center enjoyed hosting the students — it was a pleasure to welcome you to Zürich, and to show you around town a bit. Good luck in all of your future endeavors. As an American radio personality  says, “Keep in touch, and do good work.”

Zürich City Tour – Wednesday Evening

24. August 2017 | Maria Schönholzer | 2 Kommentare

On day 3 of the Summer School the participants had the opportunity to attend a guided city tour of the historic downtown of Zurich. We left the main station at 18:30 h and walked along the Limmat River and up the narrow old streets to start with an amazing view.  The guides showed us some remarkable places and I think we all learned some new facts about Zurich and its history. The tour finished at around 20:30 at the Paradeplatz – Zurich’s financial center.

Below are some impressions from yesterdays city tour.

Welcome to all participants and to our distinguished instructors!

I want to thank Maria Schoenholzer, Marta Dobrijevic, Sandra Kocher, and Stefan Kappeler. They turned the idea of the Summer School into a reality.

The participants are truly international and represent many disciplines. Already on the first day, they offered many fine comments — sophisticated and reflecting many perspectives.

So welcome everyone. Enjoy Zürich and participate in the summer school to your fullest.
