When is the application due?

The application deadline for admittance and matriculation in the following fall term is December 1st. Candidates who are short-listed for potential admission will be contacted about interviews and subsequent steps in mid-January. 

Where do I send the application?

Initial applications should be submitted (in electronic form only; one PDF file per applicant) to the Doctoral Program Coordinator to: dpneuro@econ.uzh.ch

Should I contact a potential supervisor before I apply?

No. Your application will be reviewed by all potential supervisors.

Do I have to pay an application fee when applying for admission for the program?

There is no general application fee to pay when applying for admission. When admitted to the program, the Dean’s office will have to verify all official documents and students will be charged an administration fee of approximately 100 CHF for this processing. What is the address for the GRE test result submission at UZH?

For the application to the Doctoral Program in Neuroconomics a copy of your GRE score will be sufficient. If admission is granted you have to hand in original documents.

Do I need to learn German?

No, all courses are taught in English.

Is it possible to apply for the program without having passed a TOEFL test?

Proficiency in English is required. If no formal evidence is available, applicants should ask at least one referee to elaborate on the applicant’s ability to understand, communicate, and write in English.

What is the payment fee for a semester?

There is no tuition, only a small administrative fee (CHF 150.00 per semester) applies.
