Quality Development at UZH

The University of Zurich strives to uphold the highest quality in all its activities. Leadership processes, evaluation processes and the quality management processes for teaching and learning have been systematically integrated with each other. The entire concept ensures that the quality development processes interact with one another and are complete cycles. The frame of reference is provided by the mission statement as well as the strategic principles and policies of UZH.

Evaluations

UZH has been evaluating all its units on a regular basis since 2001. The third evaluation cycle, which will continue until 2026, began in the Fall Semester of 2018 at UZH. Some new aspects have been introduced for this cycle: The evaluation processes at UZH will be more flexibly designed and more closely tailored to the needs of the units being assessed.

Quality Management Teaching and Learning

Data on the quality of teaching and learning will be made available in its entirety in the “Quality Management Teaching and Learning” process. This data provides the basis for a dialogue between all those involved regarding the strengths, weaknesses and quality objectives of the courses offered, as well as the strategic alignment of the study programs.
