Covid Testing

Neu: Covid certificates

From 10 January 2022, official Covid certificates will be issued for UZH pool tests that come back negative. The UZH Covid Pass will no longer be used.

Free Pooled Covid Tests at UZH

Until the end of the exam period in February 2022, students at all levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD and continuing education) as well as staff including teaching personnel can get tested for free at the official UZH test centers with pooled PCR tests if they can provide a valid UZH Card. Testing Method

Tests at UZH are pooled, i.e. 10 saliva samples are mixed together in a pooled sample, which is then tested for Covid.

  • If the pooled sample is negative, all 10 tested people receive a Covid Certificate.
  • If the pooled sample is positive, all 10 tested people will be asked to get an individual test immediately and self-isolate until their individual test comes back negative.

Test results are available within five to eight hours.
