U-Multirank Ranking 2019: Top Rankings for UZH

The University of Zurich has obtained top places in 14 of 30 indicators in the U-Multirank Ranking, particularly in the areas of research, knowledge transfer and international orientation. Its performance is stable in comparison with previous years.

In the area of research, UZH was evaluated as “very good” in six out of nine indicators, while in the area of international orientation, it was deemed “very good” in three of six categories. In another eight indicators, mainly within the areas of regional engagement and research, UZH was evaluated as “good”. These results put the University of Zurich among the “100 Top Performing Universities” worldwide in the areas of research and international orientation.

The University of Zurich’s “very good” evaluations in a total of 14 indicators put it in third place in Switzerland, behind ETH Zurich (18 “very good” evaluations) and EPFL (16 “very good” scores). This makes UZH the best-ranked comprehensive university in Switzerland. Eleven Swiss universities were ranked in total.

It compares the performance of universities in the areas of teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation, and regional engagement. Over 1,200 universities were evaluated in total.
