THE Ranking 2015 – Stable Position

In the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2015, UZH retained almost exactly the same placing as in 2014. With an overall score of 57.8 points, it is currently ranked 104th out of 800 institutions worldwide (previous year 103rd place with 53.0 points; maximum possible points = 100). As seen in other rankings, an improved overall performance does not necessarily lead to a higher position.

Compared to 2014, UZH improved its scores in four out of five categories, maintaining an upward trend. The greatest increase was achieved in the category “Teaching,” which was awarded 9.3 points overall. The only decrease was registered in the category “Research,” which fell 1.6 points compared to 2014. Particular weight in this category is given to a reputational survey that gathers responses from around 10,000 scholars worldwide, whose assessments make up almost 20% of this category’s results.

Of the ten Swiss Universities listed, UZH retained its 2014 ranking of 4th place.
