European University Association (EUA)
The EUA is the representative organisation of universities and national rectors’ conferences in 46 European countries.
European University Foundation (EUF)
The University of Zurich has been a member of the influential European University Foundation (EUF) since November 2019. The EUF aims to accelerate the modernization of the European higher education area and to promote high-quality student mobility, with a current focus on fully digitalizing processes of the Erasmus program.
Greater Zurich Area
The Greater Zurich Area is Switzerland’s business center and the location of numerous international companies. Zurich is a leading financial center. It has been ranked several times as the city with the highest quality of life in the world.
International Association of Universities (IAU)
The IAU, founded in 1950, is the UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions.
Internationale Bodenseehochschule (IBH)
The IBH is an association of 24 universities from Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria and Switzerland.
League of European Research Universities (LERU)
Life Science Zurich
The Life Science Zurich project is a joint initiative of the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich aimed at creating a stronger network for researchers in the field of life sciences.
Magna Charta Observatory
The Magna Charta Observatory of Fundamental University Values and Rights is a non-profit organisation based in Bologna, founded by the University of Bologna and the European University Association (EUA).
Rectors' Conference of Swiss Higher Education Institutions (swissuniversities)
In 2015, the universities, universities of applied sciences, and universities of teacher education in Switzerland merged their various rectors' conferences (CRUS, KFH and COHEP) into "swissuniversities", a new representative body for Swiss Higher Education Institutions. swissuniversities works to strengthen and enhance collaboration among Swiss institutions of higher education and promotes a common voice on educational issues in Switzerland.
Swiss Conference of Higher Education Institutions
The Swiss Conference of Higher Education Institutions is the highest political body in Swiss higher education. Its constitutional duty is the coordination of higher education policy at the cantonal and federal levels. The Swiss Conference of Higher Education Institutions meets as a plenary assembly and as a higher education council.

Swiss School of Public Healthplus (SSPH+)
The Swiss School of Public Healthplus foundation is the national coordinating body for the promotion of postgraduate university education and research in the fields of public health and health economics.
Systemsx is the Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology of the Universities of Zurich and Basel, ETH Zurich and EPF Lausanne.
United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI)
UNAI is a United Nations (UN) initiative that aligns institutions of higher education with the UN in supporting and contributing to the realization of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The University of Zurich has been selected to serve as a UNAI Hub for SDG-13 Climate Action from 2018-2021.
University Medicine Zurich
University Medicine Zurich is an initiative by UZH, ETH Zurich and the UniversityHospital Zurich set up to support the three institutions in research and training in foundational subjects in medicine, natural sciences, technical matters, clinical research and medical care.
Wyss Translational Center Zurich
Wyss is a joint center of the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich established to foster translational research in the fields of regenerative medicine and robotic technologies.
