Coronavirus Testing
The UZH test centers are no longer in operation.
Testing continues to be an important measure to safeguard the stability of the healthcare system and to protect vulnerable individuals. The following coronavirus tests are available in Switzerland:
- Rapid antigen tests: The federal government covers the costs of rapid antigen tests via nasal swab. You can get tested at your family doctor’s office, hospitals or pharmacies.
- Antigen self-tests: The cost of antigen self-tests is not covered by the federal government. You have to pay for these yourself. You can buy them in pharmacies or general stores.
- PCR tests: The federal government covers the costs of PCR tests if you have symptoms, if you have had close contact with a person who has tested positive, if you took part in a pool sample which was positive, or if a cantonal office or physician orders you to take a test. In general, PCR pool testing is free of charge.
The federal government does not cover the cost of single PCR tests when a Covid certificate is required (e.g. for travel).
Please get tested if you have symptoms!
