Esther Duflo speaks at the UBS Center for Economics in Society

The UBS Center for Economics in Society, UBS Center in short, is an Associated Institute at the Department of Economics of the University of Zurich. The Center promotes economic research at all academic levels and supports the continuous exchange between science, politics and society. Previous speakers include Nobel Prize winners such as Esther Duflo and Daniel Kahneman as well as renowned representatives from business and politics.

Forum, Podium, Opinions and Webcasts

Through its activities, the UBS Center aims to strengthen the position of Zurich, and Switzerland more generally, as a leading location for education and business. The UBS Center has been organizing regular public events in various formats for over ten years:

  • Forum: Annual "Forum of Economic Dialogue" on a current economic topic with experts from various fields to discuss the latest findings in terms of methodology and content
  • Podium: Annual "Wirtschaftspodium Schweiz" with economic experts and politicians on pressing issues facing the Swiss economy
  • Opinions: Public speeches by top representatives from academia, the private or the public sector
  • Webcasts: Webcast series entitled "Economics of Global Challenges", aimed at an international audience
