Tenure Track Assistant Professorship in Educational Technology

Welcome at the Chair of Educational Technology!

Educational Technology

Technology has become an indispensable part of today's educational landscape, especially in school and university teaching and individual learning processes. They do not only shape what we learn, but also how we learn. When it comes to learning with educational technologies, the decisive factor is how educational technologies are designed or need to be designed in order to foster learning.

The chair of Educational Technology (assistant professorship with tenure track), headed by Prof. Dr. habil. Sascha Schneider, is concerned with the question of how educational technologies must be designed so that they are as conducive to learning as possible. Experimental and meta-analytical studies are used to gain insights into the design of static, dynamic and interactive learning media. The chair sees itself as a mediator between basic and applied research and looks at cognitive, social, motivational, emotional and meta-cognitive learning and retrieval processes from an instructional psychology perspective.
