Our research in the field of strategic communication addresses the purposeful use of communication in different disciplines, such as public relations and marketing communication, as well as the management of communication. Our research includes strategic communication of media organizations themselves, since these seek to address their particular organizational purposes and have to react to environmental pressure. Furthermore we analyze the coverage of strategic communication within business and economic news. Due to scarce resources, business news production may increasingly rely on corporate press releases. In addition, we assess the effects of economic news on public and corporate economic decisions.
