The new doctorate cycle is divided into the general doctorate and various doctoral programs. The following applies to the general doctorate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zurich: collection of laws. A more detailed description of the doctoral cycle is available in the specific doctoral regulations. These can be downloaded from Office of documentation for Swiss juridical dissertations (Dokumentationsstelle für schweizerische, juristische Dissertationen).

The Faculty of Law suggests that you register the topic of your doctoral thesis at Dokumentationsstelle für schweizerische, juristische Dissertationen. The registration fee of CHF 40 is taken over by the Faculty of Law. To register, please complete the form and hand it in at the Service Desk of the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Law.

If you are considering submitting your doctoral thesis electronically, you must also note the requirements of the factsheets of the Zentralbibliothek Zürich.

In order to publish the doctoral thesis in the electronic database of Swisslex, the relevant guidelines must be observed. We would advise you to study the complete documentation prior to commencing your doctoral thesis.
