Zofia Anna Maria Jackson, M.A.

Curriculum vitae

Zofia Jackson (*1990 USA) has worked on tapestries from the onset of her studies. She completed her BA in art history at the Papal University of John Paul II in Krakow, Poland, devoting her thesis to medieval Burgundian weavings. Through the Erasmus Exchange scholarship she was granted a year at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. There she participated in the Advanced Masters in Medieval and Renaissance Studies and became acquainted with the local tapestry research scene. Also within the Erasmus program, she was able to carry out her master thesis investigation in a tapestry-oriented internship at the Rijksbureau voor Kunst Documentatie in The Hague, the Netherlands. There, under the supervision of renowned Dutch tapestry historians, she catalogued the tapestry database belonging to the Flemish art historian, Erik Duverger.

She completed her second MA in the Art market and connoisseurship at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam in 2014. She then conducted research at her internship at the Rijksmuseum, focusing herinterests around collecting tapestries in the 20th c.

Since September 2015 she is a PhD student within the Textile project at the UZH in Zurich, working on her dissertation on early modern tapestries.
