Mariana joined the group in September 2022. She obtained her master’s degree at the University of Freiburg, where she performed a study on the sensitivity of DARWIN to the neutrinoless double electron capture of xenon. During her time in Freiburg, she was also involved in assembling and taking data with a prototype of a hermetic TPC. She has a great interest in rare event searches, such as dark matter or neutrinos, with a focus on the phenomenological aspect.
Some of her other passions include practicing yoga, reading, dancing and spending time in nature.
