Solidarity with Ukraine
The University of Zurich condemns Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the grave violation of international law.
UZH supports the statement of swissuniversities as well as those issued by its partner institutions and networks.
“Our solidarity is with the entire Ukrainian people and Ukrainian universities,” says Michael Schaepman, President of UZH. UZH expresses its deep concern for the lives of scientists, scholars and students. “Our thoughts are with all those affected by the war, and our support goes out to all members of the scientific community concerned,” adds President Schaepman.
UZH will do everything in its power to help, support and where possible host educators, researchers and students from higher education institutions across Ukraine. Likewise, UZH offers to help its Russian researchers, who find themselves in this situation through no fault of their own. The Federal Council’s sanctions against Russia do not result in any restrictions for students and researchers at UZH.
Ukrainian students and researchers can count on the support of the University of Zurich. They are welcome at UZH and enrich our cultural diversity and academic excellence.
