The University of Zurich Student Association VSUZH – Switzerland's largest student association – represents all students at the University of Zurich. It is anchored in the University Act as an independent legal entity. The association represents the interests of all UZH students in the University and in the public sphere. Every two years, open elections are held to choose at least 70 students to be members in the VSUZH Council – the students' governing body. The elected members of the Council then choose student representatives to participate in university-wide standing and ad hoc committees, thereby guaranteeing that the student voice is effectively heard.
In addition, the VSUZH provides students with services that ease, but also enhance student life at UZH. The association is committed to making a positive contribution to the University in general, and in particular to bringing students together and strengthening their bond to UZH and the city of Zurich. The VSUZH is the contact point for all student matters. It is the main address for students who want to make changes and organizations that seek contact with students.
