In late summer and autumn 2017 three young researchers from the URPP Language and Space team are going abroad as guests of internationally renowned research institutions.
From October 2017 until March 2018, Hanna Ruch (postdoctoral researcher, Research Group Accommodation) will do a research stay at the IPS (Institute of Phonetics and Speech Processing) at LMU Munich, where she will collaborate with Prof. Jonathan Harrington and colleagues. The aim of this research stay is to compare phonetic accommodation in real conversations with the predictions of agent-based modeling. Hanna’s stay abroad is supported by an SNSF scholarship.
David Paul Gerards (PhD student, Research Group SyNoDe) has been invited by Prof. Carmen Dobrovie-Sorin (Université Paris VII) to be a fellow at the Laboratoire de linguistique formelle in September and October 2017.
Antonia Steger (PhD student, Research Group Interactional Spaces) will be a guest at the Department of Culture and Communication (IKK), Linköpings Universitet (Sweden), in September and October 2017.
Antonia and David’s visits abroad are supported by the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
