Read this post in Deutsch
Zotero 6 (released in March 2022) introduces an array of new features, amongst them a built-in PDF reader, allowing users to open PDFs in a new tabbed interface and a note editor with a citation tool.
With Zotero 6, you can:
- • Edit metadata for items while viewing their PDFs
- • Mark up PDFs by annotations (highlights, notes, and figure annotations)
- • Add annotations to Zotero notes, whereas the notes get automatic in-text-citations of the parent item
- • Cite other items directly in notes using Zotero’s citation dialog
- • Insert Zotero notes into your text documents along with the citations for automatically generating bibliographies
With these enhancements, Zotero not only enables storage and citation in text documents, but the new features also support users efficiently through reading and annotating documents.
Other new features to be mentioned
- • Support for spellchecking in other languages
- • Improved Mendeley and Citavi import
- • Plugin for Safari Browser
- • iOS App for mobile work (Zotero for iOS)
