How do people live, work and enjoy themselves in everyday life? How do they interact with their natural and social environment - and how do they think about it? In research and teaching, 'Popular Cultures' deals with the culture of the everyday world in all its dimensions.

Are you interested in our subject? The study programmes Popular Cultures(Bachelor) and Empirical Cultural Studies(Master and Doctorate) offer diverse and individual development opportunities.

A central concern for the academic understanding of Popular Cultures is the close connection between research and teaching, which prepares around 400 students for numerous professional fields through project-orientated, practical and empirically based work.

Our research fields and the associated teaching projects andpublications offer in-depth insights into our subject. You are also welcome to attend our public events at any time.
