Since the beginning of 2022, all libraries of the University of Zurich are combined under the University Library Zurich (UB). The new University Library provides external users and UZH members with a comprehensive range of library services in close cooperation with the Zentralbibliothek Zürich (ZB). The entire collection of specialist literature from 50 fields is spread out over 41 individual sites. Study and work spaces as well as additional services are available to students and researchers at each of these sites. Skilled liaison librarians from UB and ZB are on hand to provide subject-specific advice and search support.

Open Science makes scientific information and data freely available online. UZH has promoted Open Science nationally and internationally for many years and is part of several initiatives. The University’s Open Science policy aims to achieve culture change that establishes Open Science as the default approach. The University Library supports the implementation of this policy. It runs a document server (Zurich Open Repository and Archive, or ZORA) and the HOPE journal platform. The University Library’s experts are on hand to provide researchers with support and advice on all things Open Access and Open Data.
