This was Zurich’s Long Night of Museums!

Our current exhibitions bear the question mark in their titles, and so the Long Night was also dedicated to this theme. During a speed dating with our curators, you could ask everything you had always wanted to know. In workshops and discussions with our guests from southern Chile, the Kawésqar, you learnt all about their way of basket weaving and many other aspects of their culture. You could discuss ardent questions concerning the "Benin bronzes" with our provenance researcher. Our colleagues from the Design Biennale Zurich asked about the relationship between objects in design and ethnology. And then, iff your head was spinning, you could dance it off to the Latin American rhythms of percussionist Freddy Benitez and his band La Differente. Outside the museum, you could regain your strength with Sri Lanka Street Food from the food truck or think about what you’d seen so far over a glass of wine.

The next Long Night will take place on Saturday, 7 September 2024 – save the date.
