Artificial Intelligence

Why this program?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is currently the most important field in informatics. AI is everywhere: AI recognizes your voice when you talk to Siri, Alexa, or Ok Google; AI identifies faces or objects when you take photos with your smartphone or upload them to Facebook or Instagram; AI diagnoses tumors in medical images; AI predicts stock market trends; AI translates languages; AI filters your email spam; and AI enables drones and cars to recognize their surroundings and drive autonomously.

“AI is the new electricity,” says Andrew Ng, a Stanford professor and AI pioneer. The ultimate goal of AI is to make machines or computer programs capable of intelligent behavior, such as learning from experience and improving. In the Artificial Intelligence minor study program, you will learn fundamental knowledge in the areas of data analysis, machine learning and intelligent systems.

What can I do with it later?

The skills acquired in this minor study program are highly valuable in areas such as business, finance, consulting, technology, healthcare, and public administration, all of which are increasingly adopting AI. This program provides a solid foundation for further study in artificial intelligence or related fields.
