General information

The Master of Science in Medical Biology program is oriented exclusively towards master’s students as well as graduates of degree courses in human medicine, veterinary medicine or dentistry.

Why this program?

The Master of Science in Medical Biology program enables medical students and graduates (in addition to their regular degree in medicine, dentistry, or veterinary medicine) to gain a basic natural science education which allows them to obtain a master’s degree at the Faculty of Science of UZH, without previously attaining a degree in natural science.

What can I do with it later?

The MSc in Medical Biology is a preparation for work in medical or veterinary research. This includes every aspect of the investigation of the causes, the development, and the propgression of disease, as well as the scientific approach to its prevention, recognition, and treatment.

Admission Requirements

The Master of Science in Medical Biology program is oriented exclusively toward graduates of degree courses in human medicine, veterinary medicine or dentistry. A completed medical master's degree is mandatory for this degree program.

This master’s course is NOT open to students with a degree in biology or biotechnology.

The language of instruction is English. It is required to prove adequate competence in English.
