Geoinformation is becoming increasingly important everywhere: transport, energy, environmental protection and nature conservation, spatial planning or even civil defense and disaster control, to name just a few areas.
Since March 1, 2021, swisstopo geodata can be used freely by everyone. The geodata contain, among other things, digital maps, aerial photographs or landscape models.
This decision is made within the framework of the “Strategy for Open Administrative Data in Switzerland 2019-2023” or Open Government Data (OGD) Strategy.
