Thanks to Ross Macmillan, Dimitri Mortelmans, and Ludovica Gambaro for your instruction and presentations today!

Tomorrow’s subject is casual analysis and we also welcome Simon Sommer from the Jacobs Foundation.

Also: if you are interested and have not signed up — there will be guided tours of the city tomorrow at 6. Please see Maria.

Best, Mike

Great day 2! Really enjoyed both the lecture and the lab session.

Some useful back-to-basic principles I got reminded today to share with you all are:

    – Ross’s lecture
+ compare apple to apple: make sure the same sample is used when comparing models!
+ don’t be too sensitive: test your models rigorously

    – Dimitri’s lecture:
+ know theories first before modelling
    + don’t forget parsimony

Thanks & see you all tomorrow

Should add one more to the list:
+ always read the instruction carefully

In this case, to provide the affiliation with the name when posting comments.

I totally agree – the first two days were great as was the first part of Day 3. Being new to this field I really appreciate that the contents were presented so comprehensive.

Also, it is awesome to meet great people with interesting diverse backgrounds. Looking forward to learn more (about you all and of course also about the actual content of the summer school).

Thanks a lot to the organisers, who truly did a great job!

    Best regards,
    Laura
