Why this program?

The specialized Master's degree program Master of Science UZH ETH in Quantitative Finance (MScQF) is a highly international degree program offered jointly by the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich. This Master's degree program offers its students a unique blend of training in quantitative methods for finance and economics, covering the fundamental concepts associated with financial economics, financial markets, asset management and risk management.

A distinguishing feature of the MScQF is its unique combination of economic theory and finance with mathematical methods for finance and insurance. Lectures are taught by worldwide leading scholars in the field, as well as by leading financial practitioners. Students benefit from the expertise of leading research groups at two top institutions, from the proximity to the Zurich financial center and a well-established multi-dimensional cooperation with industry, including internships.

What can I do with it later?

Our graduates have excellent opportunities in the professional market as specialists in quantitatively oriented areas of the financial services industry. High placement rates are in risk and asset management, financial product development, as well as top consulting firms.

We organise yearly events with industry partners to show our future MScQF graduates possible career paths and to give our students the possibility to connect with industry.  As a further support measure to enter the industry we provide our students and alumnae and alumni with information on job and internship openings. Those interested in an academic career may want to join a PhD program in (quantitative) finance, opening futher academic venues.
