On 26 March 2019, renowned universities and university libraries in China discussed an official statement on Plan S. Plan S was published in September 2018, initiated and supported by various European research sponsors. The plan formulates the goal that, from 2020, all scientific publications resulting from research projects funded with public funds will be published immediately and freely. With China, an international voice that is not insignificant in research now also supports the thrust of Plan S. The published letter of support also contains detailed feedback on Plan S and can be viewed on the website of the National Science Library-Chinese Academy of Sciences.
